This is the question, shall I follow Natural Law or Carnal Law? Please allow me to explain.
Natural Law is the body of law taught by all the prophets in the Holy Bible. Natural Law is the body of law used to establish our Constitution. Natural Law is also the body of law that if followed tends to lead toward the Creator.
Carnal Law is the body of law taught by the pleasure seekers and can also be found as examples of what not to do in the Holy Bible. Carnal Law is the body of law that is followed in communism, fascism and socialism. Carnal Law is that body of law that always, always leads away from the Creator.
How can I make the statement, Natural Law vs. Carnal Law = Eternal Life vs. Misery?
Let’s consider a very specific example. One of Natural Law vs. One example of Carnal Law and endeavor to discover what the outcomes are and how that might extrapolate to a bigger picture.
The example I choose to share is Prayer vs. Chocolate. Prayer is most certainly a keystone to Natural Law and Chocolate is succulent and feeds our carnal desires instantly.
If I pray to the Creator in the manner described in my post Prayer 1, there is a natural tendency to pray more often. Once prayers are answered over time and a pattern of miracles begins to reveal itself in your life there is a natural desire to draw ever closer to the Creator. Truth appears at every side and true happiness is possible. This is the kind of happiness that is bone deep and spreads to your friends, family and associates. This happiness is similar to the reaction generated in my post Gratitude 1, wherein people want to help you succeed. Ultimately this pattern leads to eternal life with a loving Heavenly Father for eternity.
On the other hand, let’s talk about chocolate. That smooth, sugary delight that straight pipes to the base of our brains and says, “Take comfort in my pleasures.” [drama added for effect] Chocolate has a funny way of wanting you to eat it more and more, even to carry it along for the ride just in case it is needed for a quick boost. Well, the more you eat chocolate, the more chocolate you want to eat. So, what are the fruits of this pattern? If taken to the extreme, a chocolate diet can lead to obesity, acne, heart disease and an early grave or as stated in my title, pure misery. Yes that is taken to the extreme, and done so for the purpose of the example.
Thus my case for, eternal life vs. misery. All of the principles of Natural Law are this way and all of the principles of Carnal Law end in the same tortuous conclusion.
How does this apply to a bigger picture? In our nation we are facing the dilema of following and trusting in the power of Natural Law and the Creator or following our appetites and fears stoked by Carnal Law.
A few examples with Natural Law first vs. Carnal Law second:
Self-Reliance vs. Welfare (I want to help poor people; I want to help them become self-reliant)
Private Enterprise vs. Government Run Economy
Trust in the Creator vs. Trust in the cult of personality
finally our example,
Prayer vs. Satisfy our base appetites.
What if I just do a little of both you might ask? Well, you will get a little of both results. A little, difficult to obtain truth and a little misery.
We all have choices to make. I encourage you to learn about and choose to follow Natural Law, which is truth and be free.
God Bless You and God Bless America!
